iTunes Editors’ Notes

One advantage of playing psych-garage-punk is that you can always take the music further. Unlike most genres where you master the form by learning it inside-out, psych-punk is best when its practitioners are checking out what the new pedals can do. Los Angeles–bred Chad Ubovich already played bass with Ty Segall in FUZZ and guitar for Mikal Cronin, so with that résumé he naturally sought to make a project of his own. With several recording partners, Ubovich recorded in San Francisco with Eric “King Riff” Bauer and nailed down hedonistic romps that work as Ramones-like or Hawkwind-esque tracks, with hard rhythms and heady effects.

These Kids Are The Fuggin' Raddest!

If Syd Barrett fronted The Sword...If Ty Segall played guitar for The Hellacopters...If Black Lips had even more balls...Screw it! No comparison. Thank whatever god you believe in that these kids exist. They are saving the universe sonically.

Awesome debut

Nice to bring back grunge rock!!! Really like this record. Worth the buy.

Space-Grunge

spacey, shoe-gazey grunge goodness...
