iTunes Review

At the time of this release, this seminal English band had somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 years and some 11 albums behind them, each spawning a chart hit or three. That’s a lot of history to dig through to come up with your own “best of” collection. These songs were chosen by Robert Smith himself, carefully culled to show the band’s progression in the '80s from jittery, punk-bred guitar pop, to gloomy atmospheric goth originators and, lastly, to a synth-driven disco-pop outfit. In the early ‘90s, that sound morphed into a more mature, integrated synthesis, with a perfect and delicate balance of guitars and dance beats; the single, “Friday I’m in Love” is a pinnacle moment in their later career. Two tracks, “Cut Here” and “Just Say Yes,” were previously unreleased, with the latter originally intended for 2000’s Bloodflowers, and the single “Never Enough” was originally released on an oddities collection called Mixed Up. So, unless you’re something of a Cure completist, chances are you don’t have some of these singles in your collection. And having them all in one place provides a neat and tidy overview of their impressive career, which is still unfolding, some thirty years after their inception.

For Those Who Are Starting To Like The Cure Buy This

For those of you who arent familiar with any fo their famous works, then this might be a start for everyone. Also, it has two new tracks.I highly recommend that ppl get this one.

Good cd but its missing songs

This is a really good greatist hits cd, but it falls into the typical greatist hits format of leaving off just enough good songs to make you go buy more of their cds. "Pictures of you" isn't there along with quite a few other goodies.

iTunes, can you help us out please...

and add some of their videos, please. like, maybe all of them? I'd buy a few, I would!!!

Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late '70s, few were as enduring and popular as the Cure. Led through numerous incarnations by guitarist/vocalist Robert Smith (born April 21, 1959), the band became well-known for its slow, gloomy dirges and Smith's ghoulish appearance, a public image that often hid the diversity of the Cure's music. At the outset, the Cure played jagged, edgy pop songs before slowly evolving into a more textured outfit. As one of the...
