Editors’ Notes

The debut full-length from Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Heist, is a remarkable introduction to the MC and DJ team. It catapulted the duo to international stardom and helped them earn several GRAMMY®s, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. From the jump (“Ten Thousand Hours”), the quick-witted Macklemore tips his cap to Malcolm Gladwell as he professes his love of art and paints a picture of his musical journey. Macklemore proceeds to flex lyrical skills (“Can’t Hold Us"), flaunt a passion for budget fashion on the GRAMMY®-winning smash “Thrift Shop,” reveal uncompromised goals (“Make the Money,” “Jimmy Iovine"), and intelligently deliver endearing stories that further distinguish Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from the rap pack (“Same Love,“ ”Wing$”).

Customer Reviews

Well... Um... thats about it.

Thats it... Macklemore just won. At life. I looked at this album after seeing thrift shop high in the hip hop billboards, but what I stumbled upon was so much more amazing than I could have expected. I had never heard of Macklemore until about a week ago, and I am totally and utterly amazed. 10/10

Great album

This is the clean (radio-friendly) version of the album. Great for getting the kids into Seattle hip-hop! Excellent album.

Macklemore

Macklemore is awesome! The clean version is even more epic. Thrift shop is a must buy
