iTunes Editors’ Notes
This album is Mastered for iTunes. What is it that has made Their Greatest Hits outsell by millions of copies masterpieces like Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Les Zeppelin’s IV, and Pink Floyd’s The Wall? One might argue that these 10 songs have been successful among each successive generation for the same reasons they were successful when the Eagles first appeared in the early ‘70s. Following the implosion of the counterculture dream in the late ‘60s, America longed for sunshine and comfort. Their Greatest Hits documents the Eagles in its earliest incarnation, with founding members Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, and with Meisner and Leadon the group crystallized a sound of soft California breezes and carefree living, epitomized by “Take It Easy,” “Tequila Sunrise,” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling.” These songs have endured because they are solidly written, but also because there is no music that better sells the fantasy of a golden lifestyle in sunny Southern California.

Eagles
This album represents the end of an era for the Eagles after this album they switched over to more rock n roll but before this it was kind of a mix between rock, country, and a little bluegrass which I thought was the best of their work, but I like all the Eagles work but I like the One of These Nights and back the best...but I recommend buying all of there songs cause there're all great!
Excellent
This is Eagles hits pre Joe Walsh. I love Joe Walsh, but Eagles 1971-75 is their best work. Nothing against Hotel California or the Long Run. Both excellent and highly successful records, but the Eagles lost their "California country" vibe once Joe joined the band. I prefer Eagles without Joe. The tunes on 1971-75 will stand the test of time. Your great, great Grandchildren will be listening to this record in whatever format exists in 2113...
The Eagles in Their Prime
During 1971-1975 the Eagles were at their very best in my humble opinion. Every song on this album is a classic. I listened to their music in Vietnam in 1971 and have never stopped listening ot it. That being said, Joe Walsh was and still is one of the best rock guitarist around and is still rocking today. With Joe on board the band evolved and continued on down the road into rock and roll history.
