alt-J’s debut full-length, 2012’s An Awesome Wave, was a frequently haunting collection of mood music that brazenly combined the textures and melodic sensibilities of folk, indie rock, and electro-pop. The intrepid British art-rock quartet have approached their highly anticipated follow-up effort, This Is All Yours, in similarly clever and conceptual fashion—replete with a mesmeric, album-opening “Intro” of revolving vocal snippets and the disarming, pre-halftime instrumental interlude “Garden of England.” With the mischievous guitar groove of “Left Hand Free,” the spectral, Bon Iver-like beauty of “Warm Foothills” and the Miley Cyrus-sampling hypnotics of “Hunger of the Pine,” alt-J have shown themselves to be a band capable of both boldness and restraint.

Alt-J is bae. No doubt about it. When you first listen to Alt-J, you say, "what is this." But soon you will be going wild in your car jamming out to their psychedelic divinity. Alt-J is love. Alt-J, is life.

SO Alt-J’s album “An Awesome Wave” came out in 2012, 2 years ago. Since then I have never recommended any band to anyone that was not Alt-J. It is still my favorite album, and they are still my favorite band. Words cannon describe how excited I am for this. Thank you Alt-j, for making the best music in the industry.
Alt-J: The Birth of an Original Indie Band
It’s difficult in today’s industry to find an artist that isn’t completely auto-tuned, or trying to sound exactly like Dylan or Bowie. Today’s music industry lacks rawness and original sound. That’s why I’m more excited about this album, than any other album being released this summer.
Alt-J is as refreshing as taking a sip from perfectly chilled iced tea in the summer. Just hearing the first two songs off their new album is enough to convince anybody that these musicians and vocalists are exceptional at musical conversation and very adaptable to place and time.
Alt-J has marked a new era in Independent/ Alternative Rock. Not listening would only be your mistake.
