Schriftsteller und Übersetzer aus Chile. Studierte zunächst Musikwissenschaft und Kunstgeschichte in Chile und den USA. Nach zwei Jahren in Nepal, studiert er zurzeit Buddhismus, Tibetisch und Sanskrit an der Universität Hamburg. Als Mitglied des Autorenkollektivs Found in Translation co-organisiert er die internationale und multisprachige Lesereihe Hafenlesung, außerdem ist er Editor-at-Large von Asymptote.

Sein Gedichtband “Redoble del ronroneo” wurde in 2016 in Argentinien veröffentlicht. Tomás Cohen hat seine Gedichte zuletzt in New York, Helsinki, Prag, Berlin, Hamburg, Buenos Aires und Santiago vorgetragen, seine Texte wurden ins Arabische, Deutsche und Griechische übersetzt. Letzte Veröffentlichungen in Edit (Leipzig), Park (Berlin) und NOX (Hamburg).

Writer and translator from Chile. In 2003, he received a grant from the Pablo Neruda Foundation. He studied Musicology, Fine Arts and Art History in Santiago and New York. He interned at Christie's Department of Postwar and Contemporary Art and interviewed the poet John Ashbery. After living for two years in Nepal, he is currently based in Germany, where he studies Buddhism, Tibetan and Sanskrit at Universität Hamburg. 

Tomás has read his poetry in recitals and festivals in Argentina, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and the USA. In 2014, Tomás participated in the Ashbery Home School conference in New York. In 2015, he performed at the Mutanttikieltä multimedia poetry night in Helsinki. As a member of the Found in Translation international writers collective, he co-organises the Hafen Lesung multilingual reading series in Hamburg, and is the Chilean Editor-at-Large for Asymptote journal. His book Redoble del ronroneo was published by Buenos Aires Poetry in 2016. His poetry has been translated into Arabic and Greek, and published in German (translated by Monika Rinck) in the journals Edit, Park and NOX.
