Annette
Signorini opens this issue with a Modern
Phenomenon. Annette was born in the North Queensland sugar cane
district of Innisfail, grew up in Brisbane and lives in Melbournes
western suburbs. Attended Victoria University of Technology as a mature-age
student, studying literature, professional writing and media. Articles
published in university womens magazines, poetry in Motherlode
and various small press magazines. Has also made documentary videos:
Cloudbusting about women and tertiary education; In the Shadow of Angels
profiles four women artists from various fields and All In It Together
is about waterside workers on the Melbourne waterfront. Recent postgraduate
research focussed on women and working class writing. Susanne Rasser, 1965 in Rauris (Österreich)

1926 in Klagenfurt, verstorben am 17.Oktober 1973 in Rom an den Folgen
schwerer Brandverletzungen. Sie war beim Rauchen eingeschlafen. 1956
Veröffentlichung des Gedichtbandes Anrufung des Großen
Bären, hier in einer Übersetzung von Angelika Fremd: Anrufung / Invocation. 1978 erschien
eine vierbändige Gesamtausgabe der Werke von Ingeborg Bachmann
bei Piper, München.  B. R. Dionysius was born in Dalby,
Western Queensland in 1969. He was the Chairperson of Fringe Arts Collective
Inc. from 1994-2001 and directed the Subverse: Queensland Poetry
Festival the major, annual, poetry event in Queensland
from 1997-2001. He recently won the Best Poetry Collection by
a Queensland Author section of the inaugural IP Picks 2002
Award for his collection Bacchanalia, which will be
published in September 2002. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of
Philosophy (Creative Writing) at the University of Queensland. He lives
in Annerley, Brisbane and is married to the writer Melissa Ashley and
has a daughter, Rhiannon, aged seven. The new poems in this issue are
from the Samsara section of Universal Andalusia,
