Submission Guidelines

Most of today’s literature is still conceived in traditional ways, however, we encourage authors to take advantage of interactive possibilities of this media (images, videos, hyperlinks, animation and so on).

Authors are invited to submit contributions to the particular guest editor(s) of a theme issue only. Please always refer to the call for the next issue. Don’t forget to attach your picture (or a location for download), and to add a couple of lines about yourself.

Simply attach your piece(s) as individual document(s) to your email. OpenOffice.org and Microsoft Word .docx is OK. Newer versions work seamlessly with Macintosh and Windows. If you have older files, please check with gerald@gangan.com before submitting. Don't send .pdf, but .rtf is fine. Simple text .txt always works, but is losing any formatting.

Please note that we do not accept material previously published online, as this would not make much sense in a global media. However, material first published in print is OK. We will cite the print publication details and expect in return on later publications of your work a citation like

First published online in Gangway, www.gangway.net

With your submission you grant us the right of communication to the public on gangway.net for your work, all other rights remain with you. For copyright details see disclaimer. Publication is royalty free, for Gangway is a non-profit magazine, where everyone works in an honorary capacity.

Hinweise zur Einreichung

Ein Grossteil zeitgenössischer Literatur entsteht nach wie vor auf traditionelle Art als linearer Text, wir ermuntern AutorInnen allerdings, interaktive Möglichkeiten des Mediums (Bilder, Videos, Links, Animationen etc.) in betracht zu ziehen.

Autorinnen und Autoren sind eingeladen, Beiträge nur an den Gastherausgeber zu einem Thema (bitte beachte Hinweise auf next issue) mit einem Foto (oder einer Bild-URL) und ein paar biografischen Zeilen einzureichen.

Füge dein(e) Werk(e) einfach als einzelne Datei(en) einer E-mail an. OpenOffice.org und Microsoft Word .docx ist OK. Neuere Versionen sind Macintosh/Windows kompatibel. Für ältere Formate kontaktiere bitte zuerst gerald@gangan.com. Bitte sende keine .pdf, aber .rtf geht. Nur Text .txt klappt auf jeden Fall, verliert aber alle eventuellen Formatierungen.

Bitte beachte, dass wir kein Material akzeptieren, das bereits am Internet erschienen ist, da das in einem globalen Medium wenig Sinn machen würde. Eine gedruckte Vorveröffentlichung (bitte inmer um Quellenangabe) ist jedoch ok. Bei weiteren Veröffentlichungen erwarten wir umgekehrt eine Angabe wie

Mit deiner Einreichung gewährst du uns das Recht, das Werk der Öffentlichkeit auf gangway.net zur Verfügung zu stellen, alle anderen Rechte verbleiben bei dir. Dein und unser Copyright ist geschützt. Veröffentlichungen sind honorarfrei, da Gangway ehrenamtlich betrieben wird.

Frequency and Dates

In the beginning, Gangway was published quarterly (March, June, September and December). However, now that it is theme based, it appears as announced by the guest editors, and the deadlines for literary submissions are usually around a fortnight ahead of publication, except for magazine articles, interviews, reviews and special features, which can be submitted anytime. For the literary magazine we don't accept unsolicited material, wait for a call for submission.

Erscheinungsweise und Fristen

Anfangs erschien Gangway vierteljährlich (März, Juni, September und Dezember). Seit jedoch jede Ausgabe unter einem Motto steht, sind die Einreichsfristen für literarische Beiträge zirka zwei Wochen vor Erscheinen, bzw. wie angekündigt von den Gastherausgebern. Magazinbeiträge wie Interviews, Besprechungen und Feuilletonartikel werden laufend publiziert. Für das Literaturmagazin akzeptieren wir jedoch keine unverlangten Einsendungen. Unbedingt einen Aufruf abwarten.
