Glad to see you're still going with Gangway – I remember a few exchanges I had with the journal back in 2000 or so, I was editing The Animist at the time and we were doing similar things with multimedia. I look forward to hearing back from you, we didn't quite survive the pace of editing etc. you have my admiration for having continued and thrived.

The Futility of Violence In the aftermath of the bombs exploded in the London Subway, many people are saying that Muslims must give up violence as a means of dealing with their differences with other people. The TRUTH is – all of us must give up violence as a means of dealing with our differences with other people. In the words of Jesus, "He who lives by the sword will perish by the sword." In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Violence, once it starts, is, by its nature, very predictable. Originally you intend limited use of force. Then counter-reaction occurs and it is difficult to stop. Soon, devastation ensues. So, always, I feel it is better to avoid violence.” We did not learn from what our use of violence produced in Vietnam. If nothing else, thinking about that – that you are not the only one – sometimes helps. And, more than anything – a fact that you are building your very own lovely bridge between two of your worlds, and that a lot of us enjoy what you do – it must make you proud!

ich habe gerade bei Deiner Website hineingeschaut und bin ueberwaeltigt. Watzkas Problemloesungsstrategien – ein Hit! Ich hab mich fast angemacht. Und dann so viele tolle Leute in Australien. Dass Du das ueber Bcc verbreitest, hat aber auch einen Nachteil, wird mir jetzt bewusst. Fuer Lob musst du selber sorgen. Das kommt nicht immer gut 'rueber. Eh schon wissen. Auf die Lob-Site schaut keiner hin. Was hast Du vor?

Thanks for your feedback. No need to risk both eyesight and sanity ... most browsers of the current generation have a text zoom: Internet Explorer > View > Text Zoom > 200% or Larger; or set your default font size larger: Edit > Preferences > Language/Fonts; Netscape and Opera are similar. Type size is also relative to screen size/resolution. Enjoy.

First impressions
This is my first visit to gangway.net and I am extremely impressed. I have searched for a while to find a literary e-zine and I was very happy to come across yours. I am currently developing a similar outlet for my and my friends writing as part of a university assignment. I may send something your way but I am unpublished, shy and like a wolf protecting it's pups when it comes to my writing. Not that it is that great but it's my whole life in a pile of pages. Well done on the web design- it is more impressive than most design related sites. As an aspiring web developer it is nice to see a user friendly page that is simple, proficient and effective.

Great to see #20 up, and also to see that you have "discovered" the young and quite wonderful poet, Alexandra Ekkelenkamp. She is a favorite of mine and I have watched her poetry develop and grow with much joy over the past few years. Also, always good to see Christina Conrad. Just thought I would drop you a line and let you know the latest about two poets who have gotten together thanks to your magazine. Walter Hoelbling (who is an old friend and also my Master's Thesis Advisor but whose poetic vein was hidden from my view until I saw his pieces in Gangway) and I did a poetry reading together at the university last week. It was incredibly well-attended (about 70 people, which I think is a lot for a poetry reading) and also very well received.
We had a great time, did some advertising for Gangway and generally were quite pleased with ourselves!
So, thanks for providing the opportunity, even if indirectly!
