Editors’ Notes

Just as Michael Jackson was the King of Pop, Calvin Harris is the Emperor of EDM, with Motion, his fourth album, serving to express the glory of the empire, not revolutionize it. While Ellie Goulding, Gwen Stefani, and John Newman enliven their respective Vegas club staples, and "Summer" contains one of the year's most grandiose synth crescendos, it's the curveballs that steal the show here. The opalescent "Pray to God" sounds more like a Haim song spiced up by Calvin Harris than vice versa, and "Dollar Signs," featuring vocals by R&B young turk Tinashé, is a clever funk-EDM hybrid. "Open Wide," featuring Big Sean, sucks the air out of the room with clobbering bass.

Can't wait!!

I actually thought this was going to be another single but I see that it's his 4th album!! I can't wait for it to drop! Calvin Harris never disappoints!!

The Best EDM/DJ Producer Yet

I was just playing on iTunes and when I saw this My Heart Skipped a Beat!

Impressed with Slow Acid...

Obviously, "Summer" was a miantstream hit and it was alright. "Blame" was ok; I enjoyed a few listens. " Under Control (feat. Hurts)" was my favorite that Calvin put out. However, neither of these songs really peaked my intrest in "Motion." "Slow Acid," however, is a different animal. It is an awesinspiring Acid House mix that sounds different then anything that is being released in the mainstream right now; and reminds me how good Acid House is and how I should listen to more of it lol. Props to Calvin Harris for once again steppping out of your comfort zone and creating something different. Excited for your album now.
