Editors’ Notes

The concept behind Monkey Business is to throw a little bit of everything into the mix: rap, R&B, reggaeton, club music, funk music, and of course, a heavy dose of rock ’n’ roll. The Peas continue their reputation for guitar-propelled party anthems with “Don’t Phunk With My Heart,” “Disco Club,” and the Dick Dale-sampling “Pump It.” Additionally, there are few groups more at home with global diversity, and the Peas have no trouble embracing the mellow vibes of Hawaiian folkie Jack Johnson (“Gone Going”), then shifting into “Bebot,” a Filipino rap led by group member apl.de.ap. Even as Monkey Business moves Black Eyed Peas further than ever from their hip-hop roots, “Like That,” “Feel It,” and “Ba Bump” show that they have not forgotten how to rock the rap faithful. The album bears the mark of virtuoso musical maestro will.i.am, but Fergie is its breakout star. Only she could have kept pace with Justin Timberlake for the breathlessly sexy “My Style,” while she turns “My Humps” into the kind of irritating-yet-undeniable dance hit that only comes along once in a career.

Black Eyed Peas Don't Need To Break Up!!!!!!

Because of this album the Black Eyed Peas became my favorite artist. It's an awsome album. There is only one song I don't like a whole lot. You have to buy this album. It's their last album so make it huge. It's 50 times better than Elephunk so if you liked it you'll love this one

Monkey Business, another jungle smash hit.

After their succesful main stream alblum Elephunk, you could wonder how the Black Eyed Peas could put any more party jumpin' , bass boomin' alblum. The songs 'Don' t phunk with my heart' and 'My Humps' have already made into the main stream radio stations and music videos being played on the air waves. Not all of the alblum is party music their some tracks such as 'Gone Going' and 'Don't Lie' which instills a deeper meaning into the songs. With their alblum selling on iTunes and in record stores, who knows where the Black Eyed Peas will end up next.

Style

I loved how Black Eyed Peas have their own style. They do a good job expressing themselves. This was an awesome album.

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The Black Eyed Peas transcended hip-hop to become one of the most commercially successful pop groups of the 2000s. Their career began modestly, with a pair of albums inspired by the positive-minded likes of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. After adding Fergie, the group's pop instincts reached full flight. Ignited by the Top Ten hit "Where Is the Love?" and the Grammy-winning party anthem "Let's Get It Started," the group scored three multi-platinum albums in 2003's Elephunk, 2005's Monkey Business,...
