ENGLISH VERSION BELOW Das Haus für Poesie widmet sich der Dichtkunst. Für rund 150 Veranstaltungen jährlich lädt es Autorinnen und Autoren aus aller Welt nach Berlin ein, die alle Facetten zeitgenössischer Lyrik präsentieren. Es verbindet die Künste miteinander und bietet Raum für Experimente. Das Spektrum reicht vom gesprochenen Wort über Soundpoesie und Poesiefilm bis zur digitalen Poesie. Das Haus für Poesie erfindet neue Formate, lässt Übersetzungen erstellen, gibt eigene Produktionen in Auftrag, initiiert Wettbewerbe, kuratiert Ausstellungen und veranstaltet Kolloquien. Für Kinder, Lehrkräfte und angehende Autorinnen und Autoren organisiert es Lyrikworkshops. Zu den großen Projekten gehören das mehrsprachige Gedichte-Archiv und Online-Portal lyrikline.org, das poesiefestival berlin, der Übersetzungsworkshop VERSschmuggel, das ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival und der Lyrikpreis des Wettbewerbs open mike. Since its foundation in 1991, the Haus für Poesie, formerly the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin, has been promoting and supporting all areas of literature, but since 2000 especially poetry, both as the written word and in conjunction with other art forms and media. It is the Berlin venue where international contemporary poetry in all its diversity is showcased and discussed. The Haus für Poesie has built up formats and structures like www.lyrikline.org, the world’s biggest online portal for contemporary poetry; the open mike competition for young, German-speaking writers of prose and poetry; the poesiefestival berlin, the largest festival of poetry in Europe, that year by year brings some 150 well-known international poets and artists to Berlin; the VERSschmuggel / reVERSible translation workshops in which pairs of poets from two different languages translate each other; as well as the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival Münster|Berlin, that brings together poetry films from around the world every two years. With its wide branches of activities the Haus für Poesie opens up dialogue with the audience, promoting access to and understanding of poetry and its forms among the public.
