Lolli-Pop

I really liked "Life in Cartoon Motion" –but this new album just feels too, hmm, musical theater-y...."We are golden" is most likely the new favorite song of my 7 and 8 year-old cousins. Nothing wrong with that, but... If your favorite tunes on Mika's first album were, say, "Grace Kelly", "Relax", and "Happy Ending" - you may be disappointed with this outing. If however you loved stuff "LolliPop" and "Billy Brown" this album may be right up your alley...No doubt that Mika is a musical talent - this one is just too hysterically poppy for my taste

We are ____

Mika's sophomore album is well worth the wait. It is not good, it is not great, it is GOLDEN

Finally! :)

After Mika's first amazing album "Life In Cartoon Motion", I couldn't stop listening to his incredible and unique sound. Lyrically and vocally, Mika is overall brilliant. His past hits "Grace Kelly" and "Lollipop" were extremely pleasing. Now, a few years have past since then, and Mika is finally back with a second album!
The tracks on this album aren't as up-tempo as they were on his first, but they still give us the fresh, feel good Mika sound we all know and love. The lyrics on most of his tracks are always well written, and no one can top Mika's legendary and lifting voice.
Personally, I think his first album was simply phenomenal and can't be beat, but this album sure was a good attempt. It was also worth the wait, too!
