Editors’ Notes

Rihanna's seventh studio album has her collaborating again with David Guetta, Chase & Status, The-Dream, and StarGate, as well as newcomers Labrinth and Mike WiLL Made It. “Phresh Out the Runway” opens with warped techno tones and twerky hip-hop beats blasting like aerosol paint under Rihanna as she throws down hard claims and warnings. Chris Brown turns up on “Nobody’s Business”: a defiant duet built over a Michael Jackson–flavored foundation where the two proclaim their love for each other despite their publicly turbulent relationship. Eminem returns for the euphoric “Numb.” It’s easy to understand why “Diamonds” was chosen as the lead single. Compared to the album’s tough attitude, it's a soft breath of melodic light. Where “Nobody’s Business” flaunts her relationship with Brown to a judging audience, “Diamonds” sounds like a heartfelt serenade intended for his ears only. The deluxe version contains the piano ballad “Half of Me” and two remixes of “Diamonds.”

That Rihanna Reign Just Won't Let Up!

Rihanna has now released 7 albums in the past 7 years!!! She is by far one of the hardest working artists in the business. Rihanna has, with the release of Unapologetic, added another stunning album to her collection. The collaborations prove once is never enough Eminem, Chris Brown, & David Guetta yet again lend their musical skills to bring without a doubt chart topping single to an already amazing album. Rihanna has broke the mold releasing album after album, hit after hit never letting up and remaining a constant presence in the industry. Can't wait for next years album!

Hollywood Produced

If you are making a new album every year. There is no quality. "Diamonds" is horrible, but our standards are so low to good music these days most can't tell.

Disappointment

Hearing the snippers of this song makes me completely uninterested in this album. Diamonds was the best cut, and the other tracks seem to be other versions of previously released songs. I'll give it one more listen but I doubt I will buy this project.
