Aphex never fails

This album seriously pushes the bounderies of music and is a great album to build bridges to different musical styles you might have never or generally liked. Come to Daddy the title track for instance is something I would usually absolutely HATE. But after buying the album and slowly listening to the track a couple of times it is now basically my favorite track on the album. Its weird when you are inside the world of AFX, you completely change your perspective on music. It will take sometime to appreciate Aphex Twin, but once you do, nothing else will be quite the same.

Rich James is a twisted genius, but only a few trax R worth looking at

Every electronica fan knows this song. The insane, twisted voice screaming at the top of its lungs, "COME TO DADDY" and "I WANT YOUR SOUL" is memorable. But, the Pappy mix is NOT for the weak-hearted, and neither is the video, a disturbing look into youth uprising. Flim is a soothing instrumental, worth listening to. The Little Lord Fauntleroy mix is the best, a bizarre stroke of genius. Pure genius, I say! Bucephalus Bouncing Ball is interesting, but repetitive and hyperactive. To Cure a Weakling Child, Contour Regard is actually almost uplifting, cinematic electronica. Funny Little Man is annoying and weird, so is the Mummy mix ("give us a snare rush"). IZ-US is cool chillout jazz-ish stuff. Trax I recommend: Flim Come to Daddy (Little Lord Fauntleroy Mix) To Cure A Weakling Child, Contour Regard IZ-US l8r!

great cd!

This cd has such great variety and genius throughout, no doubt a classic. ESPECIALLY the title track... and the video rules!

Exploring the experimental possibilities inherent in acid and ambience, the two major influences on home-listening techno during the late '80s, Richard D. James' recordings as Aphex Twin brought him more critical praise than any other electronic artist. Though his first major single, "Didgeridoo," was a piece of acid thrash designed to tire dancers during his DJ sets, ambient stylists and critics later took him under their wing for Selected Ambient Works 85-92, a sublime touchstone in the field of...
