The most brilliant Three Track EP, for the electronic fan.

This EP is perhaps the best buy you can get from Richard D. James : It features a Headliner, the premiscuous "Windowlicker", the distorted "Symbol" song and the gentle " Nannou", crafted like a children's toy...It is a must have for anyone looking to get into electronic music, an Aphex fan, or just looking for something new and interesting. 1. Windowlicker : 5/5 This track is absolutly amazing, featuring a strong beat, voice manipulation, as well as amazing inverted sounds. The track is a masterpiece of electronica, as well as a lengthy piece of material for $0.99...6:07!!! The track simply glows with an amazing stance in the world of electronic music, as well as any kind of music for that matter---it's a must have. The video is also a rather amusing parody on the rap videos of yesterday, warping the thug's sexy models into ruthless Aphexs "Twins". The video is by Chris Cunnigham ( Frozen : Madonna, All is Full of Love : Bjork ) 2. Symbol 3/5 This track has a very long name in the form of a mathematical formula, and is only vaguely interesting among it's liquid metallic beats in the sense that, when applied to a sound meter, an image of Richard D. James' (Aphex Twin) face materializes. 3.Nannou 5/5 Aphex Twin reveals the more fragile and warm portion of his electronic theology, using creaks and craks to simulate a child's music box. Well done and lengthy, it also features a video by the director of the "Windowlicker" video, Chris Cunnigham.

W.O.W.

Great album in general. Windowlicker is DEFINETELY the star track. Although I did notice that the second track "Track 2" is incorrectly named. The track is in fact named "ΔMi−1 = −aΣn=1NDi[n] [Σj∈ℂ{i}Fij[n − 1] + [Fexti[n−1]]." Of course, I could see why "Track 2" is a name of choice though. But I thought I'd just give anybody the F.Y.I.

NICE!

Cool, twisted, and fun. 1. Windowlicker (10/10): Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. The vocal manipulation is nice too. Madonna drew the limo/bling-blingy fur idea from the video for her "Music" video. Just goes to show that Richard James inspires everyone. 2. Track 2 (1/10): The worst by James. Not a winner. 3. Nannou (11/10): Warm, music-box track. It even stops in the middle and is wound up like a real music box. All in all, a beautiful stroke of genius. BUY IT TODAY!!!

Exploring the experimental possibilities inherent in acid and ambience, the two major influences on home-listening techno during the late '80s, Richard D. James' recordings as Aphex Twin brought him more critical praise than any other electronic artist. Though his first major single, "Didgeridoo," was a piece of acid thrash designed to tire dancers during his DJ sets, ambient stylists and critics later took him under their wing for Selected Ambient Works 85-92, a sublime touchstone in the field of...
