Not as good as it's made to be

Dearly though I love the postal service, I feel like this was their last ditch attempt to keep loyal fans after Give Up, since it's been so long. Be Still My Heart is quite good, but they also include we will become silhouettes, hardly new, and the remix of We Will Become Silhouettes is no good. It's an attempt at acoustic Postal Service, which is close to impossible from what I can tell. It's too electronic to be made acoustic, and the acoustic Silhouettes just doesn't work. The Nothing better remix is good. I give it three stars for effort and because I'm a sucker for postal service, but really, only get Be Still My Heart and Nothing Better (styrofoam remix)

Genius

Ben Gibbard does it again. While only four songs strong, the We Will Become Silhouettes EP continues in the fashion of its predecessor, Give Up, with substantial lyrics and light melodies. A few songs from Give Up are revisited in a new light and a previously unreleased song has been thrown in for good measure. A great listen if you like The Postal Service's other albums.

"and i thought, be still my heart!!" this cd/ep is amazing and be still my heart is the best song and ben gibbard is a genius!

Named for the courier service that allowed them to trade song ideas while living in different locales, the Postal Service were a short-lived supergroup featuring Jimmy Tamborello (leader of the electronica bands Dntel and Figurine) and Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard. Adding to the project's star status were Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis and former Tattle Tale member Jen Wood, both of whom contributed backing vocals to the band's mix of bubbling electronica and indie pop.
