iTunes Editors’ Notes

After John Fogerty's songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival became embroiled in a legal battle, he went many years without even playing them live. 2005's The Long Road Home marked his return to CCR's old label, Fantasy Records, and became the first anthology ever to include those classics alongside his post-CCR tunes. The collection shows how consistent Fogerty's musical vision has remained through the decades. From the raw-throated roar of Creedence's '60s roots-rock classics ("Fortunate Son," "Born on the Bayou") to the former CCR frontman's '80s solo smashes ("Centerfield," "The Old Man Down the Road"), Long Road Home is an all-American success story.

Fortunate Son

CCR is one of my favorite artists... and Fortunate Son is a hallmark song and cornerstone of American culture and history.
