Gershwin's Fushion Of Classical And Jazz

This album is one of the best recordings of Rhapsody in Blue possible. As it is the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Leonard Bernstein, one of the greatest American conductors of all time, you can be sure that it is the best possible way to get a wonderful musical experience. This is especially good if you have seen Fantasia, with this work pictured as the background music to a New York City scene.

Rhapsody in Blue is amazing, but...

This version is not the best one out there...although it is the cheapest full version on iTunes, which is sad. Yes, no other full Rhapsody in Blue track on iTunes is available as to be purchased as a single song, so unless you want to buy the entire album, this version is your best bet. And while it is stupendous in its own right, it is not Bernstein's best interpretation. As one of the reviewers commented on, the version where Bernstein himself is playing piano (avaliable on Google Video and Youtube) is, in my opinion, the best one...the clarinet is simply fantastic. Kudos for this version, though.

One of the best songs ever written

I love this song, and this arrangement. There are few songs that can top Rhapsody in Blue. The emotion is so strong in this piece that I can feel it within me. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

For more than 30 years, from his assumption of the post of Music Director of the New York Philharmonic in 1958 until the final concerts that he conducted in obviously failing health near the end of his life in 1990, he was the most prominent...
