The magnitude of Michael Jackson’s talent is evident in every track of his second collection of previously unreleased posthumous material. Even though most of the songs here didn’t make the final cut for Jackson’s studio albums, XSCAPE stands on its own as a brilliant collection of sleek, R&B-influenced pop. The roster of hit-making producers involved—including Timbaland, John McClain, Stargate, and Rodney Jerkins—add a dazzlingly modern sheen to Jackson’s original sessions; one standout is the Timbaland-produced opener, “Love Never Felt So Good,” which was originally tracked more than 30 years ago. Other highlights—like “Do You Know Where Your Children Are,” “Loving You,” and “Chicago”—present Jackson’s acrobatic vocal against a backdrop of hard-hitting synth grooves and trap-inflected beats. The album’s most fascinating offering comes with “A Place with No Name,” which is inspired by “A Horse with No Name” by ’70s rock act America.

Just Love

Just Love and spread love like MJ did. Stop hating and trying to say what Michael would have wanted. Some of these tracks were raw and some finished but not included on albums because you can't have 100 on one CD. MJ was about discovery and I just heard an new artist Robbie Freeman who gave me goosebumps because he sound a lot like Michael. Go listen to his One World and Alright songs on his album here on itunes. Just unbelievable how much he sounds like MJ. But there will always only be One King of POP. Keep the unreleased songs coming we want to hear them all!

Thankful for the release of the untouched MJ songs.

I am extremely happy that the estate decided to release a deluxe version with the untouched and original versions of the songs, hence my 5 star rating. Those will be the songs that I will listen to and enjoy. Disc 1 will be completely ignored, as I do not wish to hear anyone’s production on Michael’s songs who he did not work with while he was alive. Although I’m not sure how Michael would feel about his unfinished music being released to the public, I am very excited to hear it. A unfinished MJ track with just humming and beat boxing will always sound better to me than the crap that is being released today. Anything that MJ touches is gold, I could care less what anyone else thinks.

I also want to add that a demo of ‘Xscape’ was leaked years ago, and that version is much better than the one that was reworked by Timbaland (or whomever). I assume that version will be on disc 2 of this CD. If not, do a quick Google search and listen for yourself.

Long Live The King.

The songs are previously unreleased.

The songs that will be featured on the album were supposed to be released before he passed away. The songs Xscape, Blue Gangsta and a few others will be on this album (If I'm correct). They were once leaked but never put on any album. Before Michael passed he said in an interview that he had music already pre-recorded and saving those songs until he died so that his children would have money to live off of. So to all the negative comments that are saying that The Jackson Family is just thirsty for money, you're wrong. And why do you all care? If you feel this way there should be no reason for you to be commenting about this album.
