In ihren teils autobiografischen Arbeiten verbindet Birgit Weyhe den Stil der europäischen Comic-Avantgarde mit afrikanischer Formensprache. Für Madgermanes wurde Birgit Weyhe 2015 mit dem ersten Deutschen Comicbuchpreis der Berthold Leibinger Stiftung ausgezeichnet.

In her semi-autobiographical works Birgit Weyhe combines the style of the European comic avantgarde with African form language.
