iTunes Editors’ Notes

This comprehensive Oasis retrospective — released at the prospect that the rift between Liam and Noel Gallagher is irreparable — features just about everything a casual fan would ever want to know about Oasis. The Deluxe Edition is the better value with 47 audio tracks and 40 videos. It’s more than just the bare essentials and includes all the band’s British singles and American hits and iTunes exclusive live tracks from the London Festival, where the band’s pop sound turns dark and grungy as the manic crush of “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “My Big Mouth” meet the sweet arena cheer and smooth flow of “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and “Champagne Supernova.” Oasis were England’s leading band throughout the ‘90s, taking the crown from Suede and keeping it from Blur until all the Gallagher’s cheeky hype turned themselves into genuine superstars. The standard version collects 27 studio-approved cuts, but this is one place where it should be a no-brainer as to which version is essential.

27 Studio songs, 20 Live songs, and 40 music vids for $20?

Everyone knows Oasis sings Wonderwall as well as Champaigne Supernova. But The sad thing is that in America that's all they are known for. This album is loaded with basically all of there gems over there 15 years of existance and look at how much your getting for your money. I've been an Oasis fan for 4 years and i don't have a week go by where i'm not listening to them. So if you are interested in some REAL music and not of this electric dance crap i highly suggest this to anyone. If your not sure about getting the whole album at least check these ones out and enjoy some of the great music that will ever touch your ears.

Truly the greatest band ever

More than just a band, a way of life. Haven't gone a day in three years without listening to them. Don't plan on ending that any time soon. Its a shame they've broken up, but we should see some good things from Noel and Beady eye in the future. Oasis live forever.

Formed: 1993 in Manchester, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Oasis shot from obscurity to stardom in 1994, becoming one of Britain's most popular and critically acclaimed bands of the decade in the process. Along with Blur and Suede, they were responsible for returning British guitar pop to the top of the charts. Led by guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher, the Manchester quintet adopted the rough, thuggish image of the Stones and the Who, crossed it with "Beatlesque" melodies and hooks, injected distinctly British lyrical themes and song structures like the...
