b. 1981, is a Russian writer. Lebedew’s newspaper as a contributing journalist was banned during the Ukrainian conflict. His novel Menschen im August/People in August was rejected by Russian publishers for a long time. The German edition was the world premiere; it became a bestseller in the US and was then published in 2016 in Russia. “In Russia, he was fighting a losing battle as an investigative journalist, so he became a writer.
